Hi I am a caretaker for my husband on dialysis for almost 3 years.  He is 69 and I am 66, both retired.  I am happy to find this forum, because my husband Hates Dialysis.  It keeps him alive and I am grateful for that.  I hope and pray everyday.

Hope and prayer are good.  I'm glad you found this site and hope we can give you and your husband all the support you need.

My husband is on dialysis and I as the caregiver, can safely say I hate dailysis. It effects the family especially the caregiver. We know justhow you feel and what you go through! You're not alone

Hello & Welcome Mrs. Mc.  I too am a caregiver to my husband and know that this stuff is very scary!  No body really likes doing Dialysis, but it is a necessity, so make the best of it.  Would you help him to learn to do it at home?   It takes commitment on both of your parts but Im so glad that my husband is doing it at home. He & I did not favor In-Center Dialysis.
He has been dialysising for 7 years now, and  6 of those have been at home: 5 yr. PD, 1yr In-Center and now doing Nxstage at home for slightly over a year now!
May I ask, what caused your husbands kidneys to fail?  Could he get a transplant? You are in the right place, Mrs. Mc!  Everyone here has gone through just about everything and could really advise you in whatever you need to know!
It never hurts to hope and pray!  I couldn't have gone through all this without Jesus.  He is my Rock in everything! He brought this site to me one day and I have learned more from here than anywhere I know!

Please let us know how things are going with your dear husband!  You are there for him and he is Blessed to have you!

GOD BLESS,

lmunchkin     :flower;
