Hi from middle Georgia

Hi everyone,
I was diagnosed with CKD last month. I had no idea, just knew I was tired. I had a permacath placed in my chest while in the hospital, but last week, I spiked a 105 degree fever and alas I had a staph infection, I went today to have my permacath replaced. I thought it would go in the same general area but no, I have it on the opposite side, I am in so much pain, and all they say to take is Tylenol...I am feeling so down and angry at the same time, I am glad I found this site, because no matter how you explain things people just can't understand. Oh yes, I am on dialysis for 4 hours on MWF at my local Davita center. Thanks for listening...

Kathy! My Blokey was (somewhat unexpectedly) thrust into the World of Dialysis too, so I (sort of) understand the very big bag of mixed emotions you must be feeling right now. Yeouch! for the pain ... hope it's less painful today.

Hi Kathy, I'm so glad you found us. Demand some pain meds (more than Tylenol). I'm so sorry you have to join us but I'm glad you have us to come to. Just come here to vent and ask questions and we will do our best. I've been dealing with CKD for over 25 years, so if you don't have anything nice to say, sit by me.

Welcome to IHD! Since it seems like you are in need of it right now, feel free to borrow the big stick and smack the doc who said to just take tylenol with it...
