Me with Baron von Fresenius

« on: July 31, 2011, 08:25:49 PM »

I haven't been on here for quite awhile, so I thought I'd drop in and say hi! I moved to another town about a year ago, and for about half of that time, I didn't have to do ANY dialysis!!! My kidney (I only have one) got up to about 20% function for about six months, but this last month it has dropped again and I had to drag the dialysis machine out of the closet  :banghead; But, I got six months free of dialysis, and maybe my kidney will come back up again. I don't have easy access to the Internet, so I probably won't be around much, but I got this chance to say hi to my IHD family.

Adam - thanks for taking the time to update us  :2thumbsup;

Six months off is pretty darn good - I'm just sorry the function dropped again and you have had to go back to that machine.. but if it improved once it ould do so again - maybe you just need to keep moving towns???  :rofl;

hang in there and thanks again for the update.

Hello Adam,

thanks for the update.

I am so glad you have moved, I remember you mentioning
neighbours shooting with guns and you were concerned about the safety of your family...

Please tell us more about your kidneys picking up ?

Was it due to a new treatment  - or perhaps a new diet ?

I do hope your kidneys give you another break,
and I wish you good luck in your new home,

Best wishes from Kristina.

We're not exactly sure what caused my kidney to work. My lab numbers just started going up, and my doctor gradually reduced my dialysis until I was off of it. I have had much lower physical stress since moving out of the big city. Maybe that has something to do with it. Whatever it was, I hope it happens again  :)

Thanks for your reply, Adam.

Just another thought. Can you think of anything
(perhaps something in your diet i.e. foods or liquids)
which stopped when you moved, and after six months
you resumed taking it  ?

I am sure you have thought about this deeply,
but sometimes an almost insignificant change
(what we might consider as insignificant)
may have quite a potent effect.

I hope your kidney picks up again I wish you the best of luck.

Kind regards from Kristina.
