Hello everyone.

Very new and unsure what to say here.  I am a 56-year-old attorney in Houston.  I was diagnosed with ESRD about 2 years ago and started dialysis a month ago.  I believe my kidney failure was related to high blood pressue brought on by work stress and a very high-sodium diet.

The good news is I am scheduled for a transplant in 2 weeks!  My daughter and son are both matches and one or the other will be donating a kidney to keep the old man alive a bit longer. I joined this forum to respond to a question someone asked about the dialysis center Dialyspa in Houston, which is where I am being treated while we wait for the surgery.

Hi jalexander451, and welcome to IHD.  I'm so glad you found us.  Great kids you have.  Stay tuned even after the transplant because I'm sure you will have questions that have been talked about on this site.

Best of luck in the coming weeks.
