Well, the pants may not fit any more, so maybe getting big pants that the waist bands can be above the exit site. The exit site should be above or below the waist band. Most patients like it below, but I prefer it above.

I only use one small piece of tape right next to the gauze - and then I tuck the rest into my pants.  I don't worry too much about removing the sticky stuff till it get's really bad lol.

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone.

I found a product call Immobile and they sent some samples.
http://tntmoborg.com/immobile.html

These are in Baxter's catalog and can be ordered with your monthly supplies.
Cat # 5C4319

You can also order them direct from the company at $30 a box for 30 pieces.
They are supposed to stay on for up to three days.
I just got the samples yesterday so I will give an evaluation of their performance in a few days.

Looks neat, however, it still uses an adhesive of some sort to stick to your skin. Please let us know if it leaves residue on your skin and if so, is it just like tape?

@kong
Those are similar to the ones I have.  They work great and don't leave a sticky residue like tape.  The ones I have work great in the shower too.

I've tried the Immobile devices and i have to say I'm disappointed with them. The first one came off after a few hours. I shaved and washed the area with alcohol where i was going to put the next one, it too came off after several hours. It didn't leave any residue though, so that was good. If I could just get them to stay on...

I guess I'm stuck using tape for now. I've been using paper tape which doesn't leave much behind unlike the plastic tape. I have several rolls of the plastic left, Christmas presents are going to be wrapped with that this year I guess.

Well, thanks Kong for trying that out for us.....  I suppose if it didn't work for you, I won't try it.  I am still using the "silk" tape and haven't gotten any  kind of a belt.  The good thing is that when I am on the machine (which is going back to the factory today, I am on my third one) I can go nearly "empty" in the daytime, so my belly isn't so big.  I have found some low rider teenager pants that I can wear.....  but mostly I am still wearing my overalls.  Good thing I am not a fashion diva.

I use the Stickman belts as well, but you can also try the belly bands they sell in maternity sections, they can work, too.

To clarify, Stickman doesn't make belly bands, but I was throwing that out there as an also... My grammatical bad.

Hi there! My husband uses a fantastic belt called PD click  ( you can google it)- he uses silk tape to secure the tubing in case of tugs. If you dampen this before removing the glue just peels off.
We have experimented with every tape known to mankind and most just eat his flesh -but the silk tape is super.
Good luck - if you have trouble getting it - let me know and I will put some in the post for you.
All the best,
Kay

I still had one to go and tried that also. I put this one on upside down (the velcro strap closing downwards). This one is going on the third day of staying put. I don't know if positioning it a different way had anything to do with it but I might order some and hopefully they all work this good.

@HOD I have a Stickman belt also. It tends to roll up and slide up and down as I sit or stand and it tugs the catheter too much.

@kay I checked out the site for the PD Click and might try that too, thanks for the suggestion.

Kong, there is some rolling here and there, but I like it more than anything else. You also may want to try the belly bands from maternity sections. They do a good job keeping everything still, too.

Five years on PD with an abdominal catheter and I have always covered it with a dressing and placed the catheter end in my pants.  I wear my pants below the exit site.  To shower I use a belt to hold the catheter from hanging, no need for tape.  Hope this helps.
