GAH!!!  Last night was my second night on the cycler.  The first night had a couple alarms for drain line, which wasn't really blocked, but that's ok.... But last night ALL NIGHT long the danged thing was alarming saying that the cassette door was not closed.  It WAS closed, and I am sure of it.  I called the support three times and they worked me through it, but it just continued through all the cycles, the total times far beyond my count.   They told me to press on the door and then try again.  Finally I would just get up and bang it hard with my fist, press ok and go back to the danged bed, only to go another 10 minutes or so.  The last one was at 7 am.  Then of course, I went to sleep so that I could get a few winks before my first appointment, only to be awakened by the delivery guy, "hope I didn't wake you, we have 17 more boxes for you".  WAAAAAAAH!

Thanks for listening.... off to the dentist.  I hope I get some sleep tonight.  Anyone else having this problem?

Heather, sleepy in Alaska.

If it happens again, call them back and tell them you want a new machine.  You don't have to deal with this and need a good nights sleep.  I have learned that there are some evil machines that need to be kicked through the wall and smashed to bits.  I actually kicked mine off the cart after 32 alarms in 3 hours. :Kit n Stik;  I had 1 machine for a whole year and it worked great.  The pump died and I had it replaced with one that only worked 2 weeks.  I got another one and this one has no issues...knock on wood.  If you call at 11pm they can still have a new one sitting on your door step by 9am.

Best of luck!

Thanks Kana, nice to know I am not alone, although that was only my first couple nights.  But I did call them this morning and they have another one on the way tomorrow.  Whew......  that was a pain in the butt.

How are you doing now?  The older machines(last year) had a lot more alarm issues then the ones they are giving out now.

I know the feeling. I began 2 weeks ago. The first night was terrible. Even though I had 8000 mill hooked up, The solution line needed a little more and kept buzzing the SOLUTION LINE BLOCKED warning. I had to shut down and abort. I added two 5000ML bags and this solved that problem. Now I'm making adjustments because of drain pain making it hard to cycle at night.

Hi guys, I am glad to say that the replacement machine, which is exactly the same as the old one, is GREAT.  Not one "cassette door" alarm.  I have had a few patient line blocked alarms, but am learning how to hook up to myself so that when I turn over I don't squish the line.  It's noisy, but I am adjusting.  I also am setting out a thermos for tea in the mornings so that I can use the laptop and watch a live webcam Safari drive in S Africa while drinking my tea and waiting to get off of the machine.  So, am adjusting, learning to be thankful for dialysis even though I didn't WANT to be thankful.  I am honestly surprised that I am no longer feeling so overwhelmingly crappy.  So perhaps there is still hope for a good life yet.  I am also no longer taking the Ambien at night, which of course made me feel drugged all the next day.  Sometimes I have to use ear plugs, but just working it out.   :waving;
