Christmas in April

After a few months of trying to get together to celebrate our December birthdays, Kitkatz and I were finally able to meet this last weekend. She took the train to Union Station. I picked her up and we headed out to the Griffith Park Observatory. We hiked up the Mt. Washington trail and had a great view of the city. The sky was a little hazy but the air was fresh and it was a nice warm day. After visiting the observatory we drove near downtown Los Angeles and went to Phillipe's, a restaurant famous for it's french dipped sandwiches and fabulous pie! It is always great to see my friend Kitkatz! Here's a photo of her.

Great pic! Thought about you again this last Friday. Drove through Pasadena again on my way to pick up my son in Agoura Hills.

It was fun. I walked my little feetsy off. The view up the mountain was beautiful. Griffith observatory was neat, too. The pressies for birthday were fun, too.

I'm late to this party but Happy Birthday you guys! Thank you for sharing the picture! I absolutely love Phillipe's french dips - I'm so jealous. I used to get them when my Dad would bring me and my mom to LA on a Saturday to do some shopping. What did you think of the sandwich, KitKatz? Did you get a double dip? Did you slather on mustard? How about you, Okarol, how do you get them? I'm so craving one of those now...

We loved the sandwiches - KitKatz's hot tip was to add the cole slaw to the sandwich, and we had spicy mustard too. Next time I am going to get mine double dipped! YUM!

Next time I head to Southern California, I'm going to have to see if anyone wants to meet me at Tito's Tacos in honor of Epoman. I looked at the pictures of him and Goofynina eating those great looking tacos and I just thought, "Why haven't I gone there yet? Oh yeah, Southern California traffic..." Well next time, damn the torpedos, I'm going. And on the way home I'm getting a double beef dip, plenty of mustard, and I'm throwing the slaw on there too. Of course, I can only take a bite about 2 bites, but they'll be darn good bites.
