Hi Everyone...

Well, it's that time of year.... The Carers Assoc. is hosting it's second National Dog Walk to raise badly needed funds to support Family Carers such as myself...

For those of you who don't know me, I'm a wheelchair user caring for another wheelchair user... I'm caring for my mum, Else who has ESRD, is on CAPD, and has Parkinson's Disease, Osteoporosis, Arthritis, Skin Cancer, and Diverticular Disease...

The Carers Assoc. gives me great support, both practical and emotional... A carer comes twice a week for three hours to let me get out and do all the little things that have to be done, the grocery shopping, prescription collections, etc...

In this regard, our little hooligan, AKA 'Dougal' the dog is putting his best paw forward, and is taking the fundraising Dog Walk to raise funds....

This is his My Charity page, and donations can be easily made on this... Every little bit helps a lot!... http://www.mycharity.ie/event/dougal/

I do of course realise that money is tight, and not everyone's in a position to help all the worthy causes out there... Please wish us luck, though... Last year, 'Dougal' raised the most money in the country... He has a title to defend!... LOL!!!!....

Love to all....

Darth....

Well, so far he's raised €199 online, and about €400 offline..... http://www.mycharity.ie/event/dougal

I'm so pleased to be able to give some much needed funding to a very special organisation...

I don't know what I'd do without them!...

Hope he raises much more money....

Wouldn't you think butter wouldn't melt in his mouth???... LOL!!!!.... I'm under orders from Mum to get his hair cut... Says he has to look his best for his 'adoring public'.... So he's booked in to the groomers for Thursday...

Love to all....

Well, this fundraising's going well for the smutt....

The walk's tomorrow, and he's up to €1,153.... That's about US 1,680....

I'm delighted!!!... Initially I was aiming for €250, then I said €500... But wow, he's more than doubled that!!!!....

Please wish us luck... I hope the weather co-operates... Dougal HATES getting his paws wet... But come rain or shine, Hell or high water, he's walking that walk.... Lots of very kind folk have given us money for the Carers Assoc. to help provide Care Attendents to look after the caree while the family carer gets a much needed break, so the little hooligan's doing it!!!!....

There's still plenty of time to sponsor him at www.mycharity.ie/event/dougal

Thanks to everyone for the support!...

Love to all...

I wish IO could have helped this year, but sent money to a friend so they could go to the doctor.Which in hindsight I should have not given so much, yet kinda worth it.

Another update...

Little smutt's looking so sweetly at people... They're STILL handing over cash for the Carers Assoc. when they hear that he's done the Dog Walk... And of course, he gets SO many treats, and cuddles for being 'such a selfless little dog, and looking after his humans'...

Well, another €75 has come in... That brings his total to €1,300... That's about US$1,880...

Hasn't he done well???...

Thank you VERY much to everyone who sponsored him... You're all stars!...

Love...
