Hope I am on the right page.  I am new to this site and had trouble on the introduce myself page.  Anyway, I am a kidney donor ro my husband, nine years ago.  He was on dialysis for one year.  One year later, I became the Executive Director for a National paired kidney exchange program.  This is not an advertisement but if you have a living donor that does not match you, and you are interested in transplant, please email me at tabraun0822@hotmail.com.

We never charge a fee to our donors or their recipients.  Our mission is to provide the opportunity for potential renal replacement therapy (kidney transplant) to those individuals who have a high PRA's, have a non-matching donor and are healthy enough to go through surgery.  We are governed by nine of the nations top transplant surgeons from all over the United States.  It is quite possible that your hospital is part of our program.   We have helped many people leave the dialysis chair behind, children as well as adults.

Our organization is built on a strong ethical foundation.  To find out more information on paired donation, please visit our web site at www.pairedkidneynetwork.org.

God Bless the brave people who endure dialysis.

 :waving; Hi Kidneydonor1,
Welcome. I have always wondered why so few paired donation programs are partnered with hospitals in the  Los Angeles area, despite the fact that we have a population of 10 million people - and a large patient pool. Your group, and http://www.paireddonation.org/ are not available here. The National Kidney Registry is the only one, and we're lucky to have them.
I am glad there are options for swaps and chains - and it couldn't happen without living donors. Best wishes to you and I hope your hubby has many more years with your kidney!

Thank you so much for your work on your paired exchange program.  I think that's an incredible program that allows for more donations and speeds up the process for kidney tranplants overall.  Bless you for your work in changing many people's lives.

You ARE in the right place and I hope you stick around. I tried to be a donor for my husband....but I failed the urine test. Studied up, but failed again, and again.  :'(

But I do think donors rock and you are a hero in more ways than one!  :2thumbsup;
