One year later, I became the Executive Director for a National paired kidney exchange program. We never charge a fee to our donors or their recipients. Our mission is to provide the opportunity for potential renal replacement therapy (kidney transplant) to those individuals who have a high PRA's, have a non-matching donor and are healthy enough to go through surgery. We are governed by nine of the nations top transplant surgeons from all over the United States. It is quite possible that your hospital is part of our program. We have helped many people leave the dialysis chair behind, children as well as adults.
