HI all. I've been lurking for a couple weeks and finally decided to chime in. I'm currently doing PD. I had my catheter placed March 16 and started training April 4. I took my cycler home on the 8th and am now on my own. I look forward to asking questions if needed as there seems to be a lot of knowledgeable people here.

Thank you for taking the time to introduce yourself.  We are always grateful for new members who are willing to share their experiences.  I hope we can be of suppport to you.  Lots of IHD members do PD and would be pleased to answer any questions you may have.

Thanks again for joining.  Good luck with PD, and good wishes for many years of good health.

Hi Kong, looks like you started at the same time as me.  Only for some reason they have me on manual exchange 4 times a day for the first month, and then will put me on the cycler.  Good look to you, hope things work out great!

Hi Heather, they only had me do two days manually in center and then put me on the cycler. I guess I was a fast learner. Good luck and I hope everything goes well with you also.

Hi Kong and welcome to IHD.  I'm so glad you joined us.  Sounds like you are off to a good start and I think the PD Cycler is a good way to go.  Down the road you can always do hemo if you have to.  Are you considering transplantation?

We are so glad to have you.

Rerun, yes I am considering a transplant. I have already sent Florida Hospital in Orlando my app and all the test info they needed. Now they need an updated stress test before I go for orientation and blood work. They called for me to make an appointment the day I got out of the hospital from my catheter insert so I wasn't quite ready for them. My brother offered one of his kidneys to me so I hope he is a match, I guess we will know soon.
