To bad, the owner should be aware of this and probably isn't. However, they have your money so why should they care is their attitude, next sucker? Heck, they could have atleast offered a free oil change or basic vehicle service such as rotate tires, inspect something.

What should be concerning is the number she used to call you, which should be a red flag to them. Why does she have your number or information at home if that is her home number or cell number. All calls should bethrough dealerships phone lines. So I'm a little paranoid after identity theft.

find out who the owner is.  That shouldn't be too hard to do.  Then send them a letter, with a tracking number, so you know when it's delivered, to the owners house.

One of the first things taught in the course I took was that a customer will tell of their experiences, good or bad, to an average of 10 people, those 10 people will tell an average of 10 people, etc.  It's word of mouth, and it's the best advertising you can get. They shot themselves in the foot.
With the likes of Facebook I would think that figure should be much higher (although granted, maybe it's just you and me on there playing Farmville and Bejewelled Blitz ...  ;D )

My mom is there too, playing Farmville, Bejewelled Blitz, and Family Feud. *G*

You are so right. They could give a rats a$$. So I emailed them again and asked what has been done to recitfy this sales person behavior. Has she been fired? I also asked why I haven't received a formal written apology from the sales person or from Southern Lynnhaven Kia.
I also told them "Why is this person harassing me from a private phone number?"

I am being ignored. None of my emails have been answered. No apology..nothing.
So I posted on their Facebook page.

I totally regret ever buying a car from Southern Lynnhaven Kia. I had a sales person call me up screaming and yelling at me for not giving a 100% score on a customer satisfaction survey. Screaming at me that she had to pay a $500.00 fine because of it.
I spent thousands at your dealership and I get screamed at...nice.

I had to post it on their website disscusion page because to post anything you have to "like" them. I am NOT about to do that.

I think the war is over....

Well...I finally received a sincere apology from Southern Lynnhaven Kia. They even offered to pick up my car and take it in for oil changes and other maintenance since I do not want to ever encounter that salesperson in my lifetime.

I don't know if I should trust them with my car.

That salesperson's action of calling you at home to berate you was obviously totally unprofessional. It's my guess (as someone else also wrote) that she wasn't actually docked $500 but rather gets a $500 bonus for a 100% rating.

Now here's your problem though...the reason most car salesmen are so good at selling cars and getting the most profit out of every sale is because they sell a car dozens of times a week and most of US only buy a car once or twice a decade. So of course we are on un-level ground and at a severe disadvantage.

I make that point because especially nowadays the car business is no longer based on customer "loyalty" and the expectation of repeat business. Cars are made so well now by all the companies that it might be 8-10 YEARS before you even think of buying a new car again. So all the advertising money is aimed at making cars an impulse purchase commodity that appeals to buyers on price, flashiness, safety ratings, etc...NOT customer loyalty. The last company that did that (Oldsmobile) no longer exists. Look at the new Audi commercials: they are actually pitching their target market to NOT buy that Mercedes just because "your family has always bought a Mercedes."

And a lot of these sales people and even their managers are mostly short-term employees. Selling cars is a humiliating and brutal business for most people who give it a try. Most do not succeed for very long. Any salesman still selling from the floor after more than a few years is either too stupid or too lazy to be a manager. They really don't care about building a long-term relationship with customers and the "hassle" of answering your complaint is just an annoyance.

Unless you have contacts at a local newspaper (and if the dealership is an advertiser forget getting any help there), the only thing you can likely do that might cause them some pain is to return the vehicle and get a full refund. That's probably unlikely. The reason you are getting the "I don't care" attitude is because the sharks...er, sales people have eaten you and have your or the bank's money and they are trolling for their next victim. Transferring your loan to the credit union is not a bad reaction, but that will just hurt the dealership's owner. That salesperson who called you will still have their commission.

What would I do? I'd note that for major dealerships the sale of cars is a very low margin activity. Where they REALLY make their money is at the Service Dept desk. So I'd make a personal appointment with the Service Manager (more likely to be a long-term employee) and relate your story of how the Sales Dept has lost a customer for the Service Dept...and give them a chance to make it up to you somehow such as through service credits, free oil changes, or whatever.

Well, I posted the above at the same time you posted your last response. And see what I mean? They want your SERVICE business and are willing to suck up to get it.

Too much.  I called about 45 minutes ago and asked if I bought a car there would I receive a customer satisfaction survey.  They said yes.  I asked why would I buy a car there if I did not give 100% I would receive a call from the salesman yelling at me.  I told them that this happened to someone I knew recently and I was disgusted by this and I would be sure to let anyone know NOT to purchase a vehicle from them.  They have no idea I was calling from CA. lol.

Social Media also helped if you omplained on their Facebook website and when YLGuy called, they probably decided to take it more seriously. Bad press is never a good thing when they have a high priced ticket to sell that is gaining interest they will need to pay as it sits on their lot.
