I guess i needed to vent a little. Last night, Jessica decided to use a pair of scissors trying the get the tape off from her pd catheter...that girl...u know what happen...yea, she cut it right off.sometimes its the little suprises that gets me more upset than anything.She was upset about it...now she in bed for 24 hours......I have a headache.....feeling really crappy...cause i yelled at her about cutting her catheter,,i know its real hard on her...being 15 going Thur this......heck, i feel really selfish for feeling the way i do....how do ya ll cope? Maybe give me some pointers...I'm having relationship problems also.I feel like I'm a ghost...(selfish)..im the fulltime caregiver..

She cut her catheter OFF??? That's CrAzY!! Did y'all go to the dialysis center or hospital?? I'd freak out if I had done that!! I hope she doesn't get peritonitis!! Hopefully things will get better. As she gets older she will learn more and be able to do it herself.

yes shay we went to the hospital..they was able to fix it without her going to surgery..she is doing dialysis for 24 hours to keep her from getting peritonitis

Oh ok...That's good. I would have panicked if that happened to me!! lol Things will get better as she gets older!

How are things going now Carolyn?
As you undoubtedly know, the last thing a teenager wants is to have people help them or tell them what to do. And with no health problems, you can ease up a bit. But when it comes to keeping them healthy, it's a thankless job. And it feels like no one around you knows what you're going through. That's how it was for me for a long time. Still is sometimes. But I know hanging in there will give the best longterm results, even though short term its a frustrating and lonely existence! Hope you are ok!

thanks okcarol, I'm much better...your right ....about feeling like no one knows what its like..i guess i just needed to vent a little about my frustrations...I'm trying to get to the point not to let it rule my life...there for a couple of months..i felt like i was on a roller coaster...this is her second time around..I'm finding alote of information on this site that has been really helpful...I'm glad i found this site..
