The swab test I did was the HLA test to determine if I was a good match for the young man I was hoping would adopt my kidney.  His tx coordinator emailed me this:

"Hi,Jxxx! I have the results---unfortunately there are huge amounts of antigens or antibodies that Mxxx has against you so it means you can’t be a direct donor to him. But did you see the information on the Paired Exchange Program in your donor packet?Take a look at it and let me know if you’re interested."

I already knew that if it wasn't going to work for me to donate directly to M that I would want to try to still help thru a Paired Donation so maybe this will actually work out better in the long run!  One step backward, 2 steps forward.
