name is michael.  just celebrated my first anniversary on dialysis two days ago.   :birthday;   i have better grammar but typing one-handed as i'm on treatment right now.  started with NxStage 8 months ago after 4 months in-center.  it was too depressing for me there having seen a few people require emergency medical assistance  :( (granted they had other medical issues) and also missing my wife and 8-month old daughter.  lot better at-home treatments.  :yahoo; will tell more when i'm not hooked up.  might hate dialysis but it beats the alternative (other than a transplant of course!!!)

Hi FK and welcome to IHD.  I'm so glad you found us.  I'm in Spokane... you must be close?

Sounds like you are where you need to be.  I hope you are listed and waiting.

Welcome!!   :waving;  I love the Pacific Northwest!  My brother lived in Washington for a while and loved it.  I visited twice and fell in love with it!  So glad you found us and joined our happy family.  Good luck on your road to a transplant!  I look forward to hearing more about you.   :beer1;

Welcome Flying Knight - always good to have a new member and one from one of my favourite parts of the world too (SEA)!!! I can imagine it would be much easier for you being at home closer to your family rather than in center watching the metcalls and all the rest of it - I had 4 and a half years of that fun and that was enough for me :)

Re the profile - when you put the mouse over "modify profile" you should see a drop down list of options like Account Settings, Profile etc - those allow you to add a picture, change signature etc.

Hello FK and welcome to the best forum on the WWW for info/support/advice/education/fun for those who are affected by renal disease.  As far as the profile issue, hopefully one of the admins can help you with this.   :welcomesign;

Welcome to the group.  You kind of gave me a start there with your "typing one handed!"  Glad you found us!
