I can't remember how I found this site, but fortunately I remembered the name. I started dialysis two years ago (2 years as of yesterday). I became an active member on the transplant list around March of this year. I think this site is a fantastic idea and I plan to spend a lot of time here. I go to a dialysis unit at the UCSD Hospital in Hillcrest (San Diego). I believe UCSD is the only hospital in the San Diego area that has a unit. I think there are ten or twelve units in the immediate San Diego area. I am very pleased with the staff there and I would highly recommend this facility to a new patient. My treatments are pretty average; I go on tues-thur-sat in the afternoon and the actual treatment length (time on the machine) is 3 1/2 hours. The "doctor" (usually the same person) sees his patients every thursday.

Hi sbrown2459 and glad you joined.
It sounds like you have a wonderful unit to take care of you until you get your transplant.

Hi! I have relatives in the SD area; it's a nice part of the world. Welcome to IHD!

Hi Sbrown, and welcome to IHD. I'm so glad you remembered our name. People think we are negative but only I am. Everyone else is positive. So if you don't have anything nice to say sit by me.
San Diego is such a nice sunny place. I may even like dialysis there.
Glad you joined.

Welcome! I've visited San Diego one time and it was beautiful! Loved the zoo! So glad you remember the name of our site. It's a great place to spend your free time.
Oh, and congratulations on getting on "the list"! I hope that call comes for you very soon.
