My name is Ellen.  I was diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease on 1996, and started in-center hemodialysis in 2010.  I had some problems with my fistula at first and had to have a catheter inserted, but fortunately I was able to go back to needles again after a couple of months, which I much prefer.

I feel good now and wish the same to every other patient (and caregivers too).

Hello and glad you found this site. I am on my second fistula and am trying to be very careful with it. Feel free to rant, the people here are understanding and compassionate.

Hig BigE and welcome to IHD.  My hubby also had some fistula problems and he now has a graft we will start using pretty quickly.  There are lots of great folks on here and I'm looking forward to seeing you posting.

Hi Ellen, I'm so glad you joined us.  This is a great site to learn and be around people who go through what you do.  My middle name is Ellen named after my grandmother.  Hope to see some of your posts.

:waving;   Welcome Ellen!  Wow, you were diagnosed just a few years after me and you too were also able to hold on for a very long time before starting D.  I transplanted in late 2008 and missed dialysis by literally days.  So happy you found us and joined!
