hello there..im a newbies here n im glad dat stumbled upon dis website n i found it quite exciting..cos this is where people like us share our experience n lol talk fun bout it too..haha.nway..i was diagnosed with ESRD 12 years back when i was 16..n lookin back at those time...it was hard for me n also my family..i cant even stand to see the hardness-ship of my parents ( during dat time ) taking care of me while im firstly diagnosed with kidney failure..nway..im a new born man now n im glad that i graduated n had a good job now..n manage to reduce the burden's of my family ..thank God..its still a long way road over there struggling for a future betterment..a wise man said....` hoping is a best mode for awaiting the future`.

p/s: this is great moment cos im able to meet the dialysis community after all this years..

Pyelonephritis (began at 8 mos old)
Home haemo 1980-1985 (self-cannulated with 15 gauge sharps)
Cadaveric transplant 1985
New upper-arm fistula April 2008
Uldall-Cook catheter inserted May 2008
Haemo-dialysis, self care unit June 2008
(2 1/2 hours X 5 weekly)
Self-cannulated, 15 gauge blunts, buttonholes.
Living donor transplant (sister-in law Kathy) Feb. 2009
First failed kidney transplant removed Apr.  2009
Second trx doing great so far...all lab values in normal ranges

hello IHD community,
hello everybody thank you for all of the warm regards n wishes.. really appreciate it! ,im sory for logged out for quite a time cos i`ve just had my parathyroidectomy,and the removal of all four parathyroid glands due to Hyperparathyroidism cause me so much pain in the neck..but im recovering..my neck still hard to turns up n whenever i need to look up i hav to lift my shoulder up too..huh..i hope dis is just temporary effect of d surgery..by the way ,is there anyone face a massive hair loss due to Hyperparathyroidism ? im facing the hairloss since i started my HD 7 months ago..during my 10 years of CAPD hair loss is so uncommon ..but its all getting worst after i started my HD..is it one of the side effect of HD treatment?im 27old  n the hair loss seems uncontrollable each day..if this keep on goin ..im gonna go bald for the next 2 months..pls is there any explaination about this..my protein ,albumin ,and zink/iron level are currently at the stable conditions .pls someone help!

Hello Mustaffa and welcome to IHD!!

About the hair loss....yes your hair can get thin on hemo. Everyday I get into the shower strands and strands of hair fall out...I am not sure of the cause but it is happening to me. Hang in there!

Born with autosomal recessive polycystic kidney disease
1995 - AV Fistula placed
Dec 7, 1999 cadaver transplant saved me from childhood dialysis!
10 transplant years = spleenectomy, gall bladder removed, liver biopsy, bone marrow aspiration.
July 27, 2010 Started dialysis for the first time ever.
June 21, 2011 2nd kidney nonrelated living donor
September 2013 Liver Cancer tumor.
October 2013 Ablation of liver tumor.
Now scans every 3 months to watch for new tumors.
Now Status 7 on the wait list for a liver.
How about another decade of solid health?
