Baby K sounds like a transformer...

Okay, we were expecting the machine to be somewhat noisy. But since we've gotten it home it's developed a loud, obnoxious unceasing BUZZZZZZZZZ. It sounds like it originates from the back of the machine and it never made this noise in-center. The best way I can describe the noise is it sounds like a giant electrical transformer on one of those huge power lines. I can manage to get it down to a dull roar with earplugs (though I still haven't managed to sleep on D yet), but Andy is not going to tolerate sleeping on the couch for very long. I've got a call in to the technician to come out and look at/fix it, but haven't heard back from him yet.
Has anyone else experienced this? Was there a fix for it?

Bruno: It's a Fresenius 2008K (Baby K). It seems to have picked up a few gremlins between the center and home. I've got the tech coming out to look at it today; I think it may need a new power supply, as he said he was bringing one with him.
Rerun: It does drive me nuts! It drives my poor husband nuttier, though, because I can tolerate earplugs and he can't.

That's the same type of machine that we have and ours is very quiet!!! Put in another call to the tech there may be something wrong with th machine!!! The older model that we had (got the new one this August) one day started ticking like a time bomb. Called the tech and there was a part that was going and we were told not to use the machine until they came and fixed it. They were here the next day (and that was Sunday) . We have excellent techs but most problems we fix over the phone with them telling us what to do. It is a 6 hour drive for them to get to us!!

Hi, Del -
He did switch out the power supply and it helped immensely. I still wouldn't call it QUIET quiet, but it's tolerable. Just a little bit of a buzz, and of course the rhythmic sounds of the pumps. I'm thinking of making a paper template of the machine, cutting out some sound-proofing panels, covering them with some nice fabric and attaching them somehow.
Six hours? Wow, you're out in the sticks! I'm jealous.
