Here is a funny story for everyone.......
As well as working my normal job, I am also writing a book and I went to do an interview with a "famous" Aussie who is going to be in my book.
I doll up to look the part in the little black number, pearls and the high heels. I walk into the house and it is absolutely stunning....huge rugs on the floor and stunning centre coffee table with two magnificent candlesticks on the table. Notebook in hand, glasses perched on my nose I move forward to take a seat on the lounge suite. The pointed toe of my shoe gets caught under the rug and I trip.......right over onto the spike of the candlestick that's whole purpose in life is to impale large candles. It pierced straight through my left nipple.
So you need to be able to picture this. There I was with my very male, very famous Aussie and his candlestick fully attached to my left breast. I was so embarrassed I couldn't even feel the pain. He drove me to the emergency room with the priceless heirloom candlestick still attached to my nipple and breast. The doctors and nurses were in hysterics.
They had to cut away my dress and bra and then they gave me a local to pull it out. The comments were coming thick and fast and they all agreed that it was indeed fortunate that I was well endowed otherwise the spike would have gone straight into my heart. A couple of stitches and a tetanus shot later I am back home. The candlestick has been returned to its rightful owner who sent me some flowers tonight with the message......"Cupid pierced the heart with an arrow.....Stupid Cupid did it with a candlestick. Great romance novelist you must be!" Touche is all I can say.

Oh Lucinda, I am so sorry! And so sorry that it made me laugh hysterically! You poor thing! You sure have a good attitude, I'm not sure I could have been so brave!

That was certainly something to go through, and it is a testimony to the strength of your spirit that you can see the funny side. The truth is that I found it an astonishing experience. Glad you came out on the good side of things.
