Celebrity No Limit Texas Hold'em Poker Tournament to Raise Money and Awareness for
RSN, October 17th
Helping hands come together to beat the odds against kidney disease. On
October 17th at The Bicycle Casino, Dale Wade Davis of ABC's "Port Charles" and
Phillip Palmer, ABC7 Anchor, host a No Limit Texas Hold'em Poker Tournament featuring
many stars from the Los Angeles area. Major cash prizes will be awarded to the
top nine winners. Renal Support Network (RSN) is a patient-run non-profit organization
that provides non-medical services to those affected by chronic kidney disease (CKD).
The motivation behind RSN is close-to-home for both Davis and Palmer. In
2007, Palmer donated one of his kidneys to Davis.
"There is a critical shortage of donor organs and so many people are currently
on dialysis while waiting for a lifesaving organ," says Davis. "I was one of those
people and I am tremendously grateful for the kidney transplant I received from
my friend, Phillip. This event will help raise much-needed funds for RSN patient
centered programs and convey awareness about kidney disease and organ donation."
