Welcome Kenny! I'm so sorry to hear your transplant only lasted 8 days- that must have been a real kick in the guts. I guess that experience reminds all of us waiting for a transplant that it DOES happen and we need to be aware of that and prepare. Anyway not to harp on about that - hoping you can get another bite of the cherry (hmm are they low potassium? ) and things go better. In the meantime hope to see more from you as I'm sure you have a lot of experience to share with us! RichardMEL, Moderator

Hi Kenny, and welcome to IHD. I'm part Scot. I'm also 49 years old. I've never been to my homeland. I live in the U.S. That sucks about losing your kidney. I hope you are listed for another one. Looking foreward to your posts. Rerun, Moderator

I've been to Edinburgh a couple of times while I lived in the UK...lovely city. Are you hoping to get another transplant?
Welcome to IHD.

As I was coming out the Nephrologist office, I thought the sky was falling. Knew I was going on dialysis since November 1999. Had a fistula put in January 2000. Been on 4-1/2 hour dialysis since August 28, 2001. (They took out 35Kg that single week)
Maria hasbeen on hemodualysis since January, 2005
