What's dialysis?

« on: December 16, 2006, 04:07:30 AM »

Am looking to invest in a new games console soon.  I cannot decide which one to go for.  In a nutshell, this is the info I have,

XBOX is the ultimate online gaming machine and has the best games available at the moment. £320 for full system.

Nintendo (currently being sued for patent of control system).  Controllers can fling out of hands or wrist straps snap.  £179

Playstation has been plagued with development problems of Blue Ray and may be overpriced (believed to be £400 when released in UK.)

Can anyone tell me which system is the best?

XBOX 360 = Best Online gaming experience. Hands down. I love it been a Xbox Live member for over 2 years now and they offer "X-Box Live Arcade" Xbox offers a Blue Ray external drive for the 360 now at I believe for around $199 USD. 360's are easy to get right now for Christmas, they are not in limited quantities.

Nintendo Wii = The lawsuit will not affect the machine at all, nor in the future. If you wish to have a "interactive" experience than then Wii is the way to go. Graphics are not are par, with the 360 or PS3, however Wii is about and was designed for the "gamer" in mind. It's not just about pretty graphics. You will also be able to download "retro classics" from Nintendo's library and other publishers, games from the older systems such as the NES, SNES, etc, etc. Right now during this time it will be hard to purchase a Wii for a good price due to the limited quantity.

PS3 = Over priced, unless you are REALLY interested in Blue Ray. PS3 just rehashes previous top shelf titles. If you are into RPGs then this is a good system. I have a PS2 but I have not turned it on for over 2 years. I personally will never buy a PS3.

Don't forget their are some very good handheld systems out there, I love my son's PSP and Nintendo DS.

Having a teemager son that likes playing with me, I like the idea of Wii...but I can see myself pulling out the needles trying to fish out someting on the new Zelda game  >:D. Price does a big difference also.

Joe has the X-box (not the 360 version) and he likes it.  I really don't know much about it other than that.   :lol;

I have always been a PS man , but the new wii looks like fun. The advantage of the PS3 is the blue ray and that it is back compatable so all my PS2 games will still work.

I have a PSP but my problem is the battery life, it ONLY lasts about 6 hours for me. I know that is not too bad but when I'm out all day travelling and then going to hospital.

It will be either the wii or the PS3 for me. At this stage I think I will get the PS3 for the blue ray.
