Hey everybody,
My name is Michael and I've just recently started dialysis. I found out I would  need dialysis maybe a year ago and just started dialysis on sept 20th of this year. So to say the least I'm very new to this. I definitly never expected this at the age of 27. I've already gone to be evaluated for the transplant list. So I'm hoping everything will check out and I can get on it. I guess that's it.

Welcome to our community.  As one new to dialysis, you are going to be very glad you joined us.   Read the many helpful posts (it will take you some time!) and ask questions if there is something you don't understand, or if there is something you are going through which is not addressed.  There is so much going on at this site.  Please take full advantage of it, even the arcade!  And there is an Off-Topic section where you can share anything that is not dialysis-related.

Hi Michael,

Welcome to our site.  I suggest you go read the section on Transplant Stories.  There are some good tips about the evaluation.  Best of luck and I'm looking forward to your posts.

You are not alone!  I'm 28 myself, and like Angie, have been doing this since my teen years.  Decades from now we will still be chatting it up on here sharing experiences with new medical breakthroughs and remembering our 20-somthing years :-)
