I need to Vent! Here's Our Situation. My Husband and I Live in Tennessee. We Retired here, several Years Ago, Hundreds of Miles away from Family and Friends, thinking We could Travel and have People here. Didn't happen, right after We got Here, He got Sick. First an Aortic Aneurysim, then complete Kidney Failure, then a Year and a Half Ago, Pneumonia, that turned into a Bacterial Lung Infection. All of this, was a Total of Four and Half Months, in a Hospital, Thirty Miles away, which I did, by Myself. He has been on Antibiotics for a Year and a Half, for the Infection. --- Fast Forward, to Two Weeks Ago. A Daughter, from Michigan, who We have not seen in a Year, was coming down for a Week. She and Her Husband, were due to arrive on Sunday. On Friday, My Husband, was having some Trouble Breathing and by Sunday, was not good at all. My Daughter arrived and They were here, for, a whole Three Hours, before I had to take My Husband to the ER. Pneumonia again. He was put in the Hospital for the entire Week They were here. He arrived Home, only Hours, before they were to leave. She decided to stay an Extra Week. When He came Home, He was feeling Better. - In the Middle of all this, We have Two Grandchildren in Virginia, that I go pick up every Summer and bring them here for Two Weeks. ( an 8 Hour Drive ) We only see, them Twice a Year. I didn't get them last Weekend, as I was supposed to, as He just got out of the Hospital, so I was going to get them this Week. Nope. On Sunday, He starting having a Hard time Breathing again. We called His Doctor, Who just Prescribed, more Antibiotics and more Predisone. I don't think the kIds are going to get to come this Summer. I'm so Disappointed and so is He.Their Mom, said, She could bring them over for a long Weekend, but that's all She can do, as She is a Single Mom and can't take time off Work. I had to take him to Dialysis this Morning and the Breathing was Bad, real Bad, but He feels a little better now. When I took Him into Dialysis, this Morning, I told the Nurse " I think, He's Dying"  Again, I'm just Venting, here, because, sometimes, You just need too. This is a Rough Road, People, for all Involved. I have My Faith and that Helps.
Hang Tough and have a great Week all.

I feel for you- I know its tough as hell, that its tough for him goes without saying, we know it is. But its also hard for you- I get that- and even though it gets you down, you really are doing a wonderful job of caring for him. I hope things get a better so you can see the grandkids. Mizar,  I am sorry   :cuddle;    I think losing control of the path our lives takes is the hardest part of this disease.  I can't imagine how exhausted you are, mentally and physically.   I'll keep praying for your husbands health to at least just stay stable.  You have been thrown a huge curve ball and have done an incredible job of caring for your husband.   I admire you very much.    :grouphug;

CKD     Caregiver

Sometimes you just need to hit something (notice I did not say "someone.")

It's possible you've retired too far from your support system. You need more happy times.
I am so sorry it's been one challenge after another.  :grouphug;

Your post sounds as though I had wrote it, That is what happened to us we moved down to the sea side to retire in November 2006, and in January 2007 John was rushed into hospital with renal failure and bladder cancer. The next 3 years were spent in and out of intensive care. It was only when my kids said "move back Mum and we will help you to cope". You know the rest of the story.

We used to have the grandchildren every summer, they loved it down by the sea, I'm very tempted to move back but the kids don't want me to in case I get ill.

Mizar the road you are traveling is very hard, but try and walk on the soft grass once in a while for your own sake, I wish I had done so.

 Here's an Update. I took My Husband, to His Pulmonary Doctor, Today. They took a Chest X-Ray and said, they saw Improvement and took Him, off, of One of His, Antibiotics. He does not have to be seen, for another Thirty Days. I and many other Family Members are Amazed, at how many Times, this Man has Cheated Death. His Father lived to 93 and His Grandmother to 101. Good Genes? I don't know, I just know that things have settled, down for now.
My Daughter, is Driving 8 Hours, Tomorrow, to bring My Grandkids, over here, for a Short Weekend. I will only see, them for 48 Hours, but it's better, then Nothing. Take Care all. I will be in the Pool, all Weekend, with the Little Nippers!
