A friend that received a kidney 31 years said his kidney purred.

I'm interested in knowing this as well as I don't have a new kidney yet. Does his kidney actually feel like a cat's purr?

Gregory says occasionally his tranplanted kidney purrs, "like a little flicker down there. Just from time to time."
The things you find out! I didn't know that!

I've had my transplant since Nov 2008 and I've never felt anything like that, but I'll start paying more attention...

after my last transplant, I used to get a feeling that felt like the kidney was trying to turn itself inside out. Perhaps my donor was an acrobat

There can be an abdominal bruit after transplant in some cases. I had one and my transplant lasted 23 years. I couldn't feel it myself but ultrasounds always picked it up and it was commented on but no one seemed overly concerned.
