On dialysis for 1 year. Just finished all the tests for transplant waiting to here from them. I go M w f from 6am to 10am. Davita ormond beach fl. I can handle the treatments better now last fall I started exercising for a hour a day made a big difference. Just don't like the needles and sitting for 4 hours

What????  You don't like needles?????  You don't like sitting in the same chair, with no hope of escape, for 4 hours at a time????????

Then you're in the right place!  Welcome to IHD.

I've just finished my transplant testing, too, and I'm also waiting to hear from them.  It's hard waiting, isn't it.

Pyelonephritis (began at 8 mos old)
Home haemo 1980-1985 (self-cannulated with 15 gauge sharps)
Cadaveric transplant 1985
New upper-arm fistula April 2008
Uldall-Cook catheter inserted May 2008
Haemo-dialysis, self care unit June 2008
(2 1/2 hours X 5 weekly)
Self-cannulated, 15 gauge blunts, buttonholes.
Living donor transplant (sister-in law Kathy) Feb. 2009
First failed kidney transplant removed Apr.  2009
Second trx doing great so far...all lab values in normal ranges

Welcome to our community!  You will find that this is a great place for information, support and even some fun.   I also go MWF for 4 hours.  Not the pleasantest of ways to spend your time, but, it is keeping us alive!   Please take advantage of all this site has to offer.  You will soon find that this is much more than just a site - it is a genuine family  :grouphug;  caring and sharing.  So keep reading and keep posting.  Let us know how you are doing.

Hello Wayno and I also welcome you to IHD.  You will find some wonderful folks on here that are living the same life you are as well as caregivers (like me) and even some health care proffessionals.  I hope you hear soon on your transplant!   :welcomesign;
