Hemosphere names new CEO

Med-tech firm Hemosphere Inc. has named Patrick Wethington its CEO.

Wethington, a former sales and marketing exec at CHF Soltuions Inc., succeeds CEO Doris Engibous.

CHF Solutions was sold to Gambro early this year.

Hemosphere makes technology doctors use to access veins. The firm’s device can reduce the risk of infection in hemodialysis patients.

The company raised $9.3 million in venture capital earlier this year, and its product already is approved for sale in the U.S. market.

Prior to joining CHF, Wethington held positions at St. Jude Medical Inc. and Boston Scientific Corp.
