Do you have Cabbage Patch dolls, too? :rofl;

Anyone remember Liddle Kiddles?

Do they even make Beanie Babies any more?

No cabbage Patch. My daughters caught the Beanie Baby craze years ago and now want them out of their stuff. I have sent many f them to MSOE for their student life plans. The beanies are sent to the soldiers in IRAQ and a group of Engineers without Borders is headed to Africa this year.  They do still make them. I see them in the drug stores.

My sister in law had a huge collection. She unfortunately, died four years ago.  At her memorial service, she made a  plan to have all the beanie babies on a table and had her family ask the guests to please take one home to remember Lisa.  I choice a lamb. It sits on my dresser.   Over 200 beanies were adopted that day.

How about Children's hospitals?     I know our local police keep stuffed animals in the trunks for any situation where they encounter children in stress.  We donate to them at Christmas.    Hmmm, that is all I can think of for now.  Good luck!

I know a friend donated her Beanie Babies to the local Battered Woman's Shelter - they provide small gift bags to mom's who stay there with their children while seeking housing.

I also saw these articles:

 :rofl;

I have a friend whose ex-wife demanded to keep all the beanies as part of the divorce settlement.  She had them all appraised at their value at the height of the craze.  My friend wanted nothing to do with them, of course, so he was more than willing to give them to her in exchange for something of equal monetary value.  He ended up with a lake front lot they had purchased to use for camping.  (She had a really large collection!)  Several years later, she tried to get more money out of him, since she couldn't get a dime for the toys anymore.  Too bad - should have sold them during the divorce!

There's an Engineers Without Borders? And they're going to Africa??!! I'm signing Gwyn up! (Not to get rid of him, I want to go along, and bring the kids!)

Good luck with the beanies. I like the idea of donating them, and you could claim for them on your taxes.

My sister and I will take the Beanies to a group in Van Nuys that will send them to soldiers overseas.  They have no idea how big this darn collection is.

I saw a report on the news yesterday that was showed soldiers giving Afghanistan children stuffed toys.  Your Beanies will be going to a good cause and think about the smiles they will bring to children's faces.  You have such a good heart, Kitkatz.
