Thanksgiving, Chanukah, Christmas, New Years, whatever celebrations you have coming up, what are your plans?

I'm staying home for Thanksgiving - well I may go to a friend's house.  But for Christmas, I'm flying my Nephew down and he will help me drive 800 miles home to Spokane with the 2 dogs.  Then the first week of January a friend will drive me back home.  I can't stay over 30 days or insurance doesn't consider it a "visit."

We had considered going to Miami again to see Joe's brother for Thanksgiving, but for financial reasons that probably won't happen.  We will make the usual round to 4 or 5 different houses, being forcefed Thanksgiving dinner at ALL of them,  :lol; and do it again on Christmas.  Joe's brother is supposed to be getting married in Japan on New Years, but I doubt we will be able to make a trip there.  I'm sure there will be a party when he gets back to the States though.  And January marks 1 year on dialysis for Joe.

Thanksgiving we (me and mom) will be cooking the feast as we do every year and having all the family here at my home.  Not too sure about Christmas, it was here (at my house) last year but i think my sister might host it at hers this year, not too sure :P

Hate to sound like Scrooge, but this year I have made NO plans at all. I cannot even get up the gumption to ask my Mom where we will have Thanksgiving, I did ask, but got no firm answer.  I think I will email the holidays this year!

I will be spending Thanksgiving in the hospital, getting my body ready for my transplant. If all goes well, I will still be in Rochester, MN at Christmas, recovering, but with a functioning kidney!! :clap; Not the traditional way that I spend my holidays, but hopefully the best ever!. :thumbup;

Will you have internet access at the hospital?  I wonder if you'd even feel up to being online to let us know how it went?

let us all sing for you  ;)

My holiday plans will involve not really going anywhere to meet with family but the family will come to me.
To be more precise it will be the extended family ( brother in law family ) is all coming here for christmas.

From the looks of it the boyfriend of his sister ( brother in law that is) may make a formal request to marry her by asking the father.
Should be nice!

Otherwise to entertain myself and the family we are going to go to various christmas festival and markets around the region.
It is one of the most magical wintery experiences going to the christmas markets in the tri-country Rhine river area of France, Germany and Switzerland.
I think we'll also go see an orchestra play one evening.

I can't wait  :thumbup;

Absolutely; i will have my laptop so I will definitely post on Transplant Stories thread. I love this site...I check it out every night. I have found it so helpful I'm hoping to help others by telling about my experience here. ::)

I have to go home to Barbados this end of year holiday.  The 100th anniversary of my father's birth will be on December 29, so we will be having a memorial and a general family get-together.
Otherwise, I would have stayed here in the British Virgin Islands and enjoy my dialysis on Christmas day!!!
