Aleta have you ever eaten calamari? That's another name for squid. They look like little octopus. They have tentacles and suckers and the little buggers squirt black ink at you!!  it's their defense system. You get really dirty catching them.  The ink will wash off the skin but not out of clothes!!  Jigging just means you catch them on a hook. Or you can have a lot of hooks on a wheel on your boat if you want to catch a lot. Then you can get really dirty!!
