After almost three weeks, I was given permission to finally have a shower. I was also given a full list how to look after my catheter. That first feel of hot water was heavenly. Never again will I take the little things in life for granted. Should start PD training soon then I should be flying solo. Little daunting taking over the dialysis process from the nurses and the machine.

Murf:  what a great feeling that shower can be.  My husband also felt so much better after he was able to shower.  You will do just fine with PD though it is a little scary at first.

We all know how you feel!   ;D

I went almost 3mths before I could take a shower when I had the temp hemo cath in and while waiting for my PD cath to heal.  I called my first shower orgasmic!  lol

Going through life tied to a chair!

I thank God for every shower I take.

Although I hate the shower heads in my house and I've purchased new ones but need help switching them out.
I've been in better rain storms than this new shower.  But, it is better than nothing.

Life's a bitch and then you go on dialysis!

I went for 8 months before I could shower because I had tessio lines in for haemo. I had them taken out in August this year as my fistula had matured enough to be used consistently.

Oh such freedom, :bandance; :bandance; that first shower was like manna for heaven. It was also really satisfying to look down and for the first time in 4 years not seeing tubes dangling from me. (Had a PD catheter before that)
