I was Thinking, about a Niece of Mine, Today. She is a Young Woman, a Doctor, in the Navy. She is Married, to a Doctor, also in the Navy. They were Married, over Two Years Ago. Three Weeks, before the Wedding, She was told, that She was being, Deployed, to an Army Base in Iraq, for a Year. She got to spend, Ten Days, with Her Husband, after the Wedding and then She left. She stepped out of Her High Heels and into Army Boots, with a Machine Gun, on Her Back. She lived in a 10 x 16 Pod, for a Year, taking care of both, Military and Civilians. Before She was Released, She found out that both She and Her Husband, were, going to serve at a Navel Hospital, in Chicago, for Three Years. They thought, They could start Their Married Life then, nope, She was Home for Two Months and He got Deployed, to Afghanistan, for a Year. He is still there. Since they got Married, they have never spent an Anniversary Together, a Birthday Together or a Christmas Together. This is not meant to be a Sad Story, about them. They both Love Their Work, Their Country and Believe, in the Missions, they have been sent on. This is just a Thank You, to all Military Personnel and Their Families, all over the World Tonight, for making Sacrifices, to keep the Peace. God Bless them.

 :thx;

for sharing that! For all the sacrifices they are experiencing now, I hope they reap ten-fold benefits.

Carl was over-seas for the first 6 months of our marriage. So, for the past 42 years we have "celebrated" the monthly anniversary of our marriage.

I applaud their dedication to each other and their country.

Thank you for sharing their story.  My son in law was a Ranger (and very proud of his service) and my daughter got him a plaque that says "Home of the Free  ---   Because of the Brave"    My thanks to all our brave service men and women.  And especially, to Sluff's son who is in the Army and newly married.    :usaflag;
