Fundraiser planned for woman waiting for kidney transplant

A fundraiser for a Sioux Falls woman who is on a waiting list for a kidney transplant will be Saturday.

The fundraiser for Beth Ericson, the mother of three children, will be 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the former Linens and Things building on Louise Avenue.

It will include a silent auction with items such as a Brett Farve jersey, sports tickets and a zoo membership. The event will also have inflatables for children, bingo, pictures with Santa, face painting and food.

The event is being organized by employees at the Lloyd Cos., where Ericson is a property manager.

Ericson has run out of sick leave and vacation time. She has faced kidney failure for the last 2€ years and has undergone several surgeries.

Friends and family have been tested to see if they can be a match for an organ donation. So far no match as been found.
