So the 26th of November was my transplant anniversary!!!!

not sure what else to type. I'm feeling great health wise. my creatnine is 106  (i think the American conversion is 1.19)
which is actually better than a year ago, it was 115.

there have been up and downs in the past year (kidney biopsy & skin biopsy, prograf toxicty, rashes, gout, etc..)

my sister (donor) is doing fine.

so no real complaints at the moment apart from depression, but anyways there we go.

Good to hear. Thats a great milestone, hope you have many more dialysis free years Draven.

I know a mate of a mate who only got one year with he's first transplant and is now back on "D".

Can i ask how good a match you were with your sister?

hi sico

didnt really find out the specifics about the matching,

we are the same blood type and the transplant co ordinator said the tissue matching was "perfect"

(i am really gratefull, another person i know had a transplant and 3 months later it gave in.)

Perfect sound pretty good.

Apparently i'm just over 50% with my father. Pending further tests, it never ends.

But i think i read on here a live transplant that is not the best match is still better than a cadaveric kidney thats near perfect match.

The person i was referring to had a cadaveric graft.

Good to hear your sister is doing well too.

Congratulations, Draven! Thanks for sharing the good news with us.

Did you celebrate? Your anniversary fell on the US Thanksgiving holiday this year, so an entire country was pausing to think about what they were most grateful for, right along with you.

Here's to many, many more years of health to you and your sister.  :beer1;

Congratulations!
On the first year anniversary of my daughter, Sarah's  1st kidney transplant I planned a Happy !st Year Kidney Anniversary party for her. I went all out...had balloons, cake and a bowling party. Family and friends were invited. Sarah enjoyed bowling very much. We had a good time and have good memories too!

Pam, that is such a nice memory.  :2thumbsup;

My parents never commemorated the date with me, and I am not even sure I know the exact date. My parents always said it was one specific day, and my records give two completely different dates. All I can be sure of is that it happened some time in March.
