I just mentioned to hubby that im going to the "i hate dialysis" board, and out of his mouth comes......... "I hate dialysis because you cant take off sick!"  "I hate dialysis because you dont get sick leave"...   Lol i just thought it was funny cause im the participater here, and just read stuff TO him, so for him to bust out with that AND so strait faced, just cracked me up...

I often wish for a break from constant weekly dialysis.

First day of school 08'

same, we calculated that since my pd started failing i'm averaging 70-77hrs a week on my machine plus if i'm having a real bad day i'll do an extra arvo bag.

I don't hate dialysis, i mean i can't hate the one thing that keeps me here but somedays i (esp when i'm pms-ing) i just want to pick up the machine and throw it across the room (LIKE A COMPUTER).

Yow know how some woman fantasize about secret rendevous with brad pitt, well i fantasize about sleeping a whole night without being attached to a machine!

While I was still in the hospital, about mid-way thru my second month there after my multiple surgeries for complications from the kidney/panc transplant, one of my nurses asked if I thought it was worth it.  She was doling out my evening pills when she asked.  How do you even compare spending 3 days a week hooked up, not to mention the exhaustion afterward, to 5 minutes a day spent opening pill bottles and swallowing pills?  Heck, yeah, it was worth it - even the part where I had to re-learn to walk!
