Ok so while the nurses are really good at the new unit , they tend to answer my questions in a medical sort of way, which still leaves me confused ! So i have some questions i would like to ask you all . The reason behind these questions is because of how rough i felt yesterday on the longest dialysis but also the most gentle , when they put my on a short one and pulled loads off i felt fine !

1) What is a loop?
2)What is a profile?
3) What is BMV?
4) Can the machine do things at different speeds?

And anything else you think i should know that might be to my advantage while i do hemo !!  :2thumbsup; KS   x

loop  is  a  circle(sorry  could'nt  resist) your  fistula is  looped  i  was  always  told

profile  is  when  you  are  overloaded with  fluid,  they  take  heaps  at  the  beginning, and  finish  with  a trickle.eg  1 litre  first  hour.400ml last  hour.

only  speed  on  the  machine  that  i  am  aware  of,is  pump  speed, the  machine  works  around  that

BMV= bloody  massive  vein :rofl;no  bloody  idea  on  this  last  1
