Dialysis at Sea

Anyone ever been on the dialysis cruise? I have a flier and was planning to schedule a vacation for next year. I was just wondering if anybody experienced it yet and if they enjoyed it or not.

I sent for materials, etc. and gave them to the center social workers.  Several people in the center have been and love it save it is quite expensive.  Trying to decide is it is worth it or not at a minimum of $400 per sesions times two weeks (that one I want) plus all else involved.

Shouldn't your insurance pay for the amount you would normally spend?  Does it work that way?

not according to the  center's social worker.   why do they call them social workers.  they never throw parties.

I checked in to the dialysis at sea cruises, and yes, it was very expensive.  the same cruise that "normal" people could buy for $699.  was $1600 for me and my cabin mates.  then they expected you to pay for the treatments up front, though they did tell me that my insurance would reimburse me for them.  So, for the three of us, it was going to cost upwards of five thousand dollars, i didn't think it was worth it.  I've been on cruises before, and they are absolutely the best way to travel, but, we have bills to pay too.  if you go, have a wonderful time

i'm sorry for the disappointment.  I doubt I'll go.  It is a lot of money.  My primary insurance id medicare and it doesen't pay.  my secondary insurance will pay only the balance of what medicare approves.  That's nothing.  Although it has been highly recommended.
