Her royal highness Queen Ruth on her throne, RIP

« on: July 31, 2009, 02:29:41 PM »

I just got back from a week in the hospital/ My PD stopped working. I got my tanchoff catheter removed, got a permacath, and got an AV fistula put in. It was not a fun week... just pain. Started hemodialysis again. I hope it will start getting better soon... the hemo is going poorly so far. I just get nauseated when I do my run.

Changes are not fun, especially when involving a hospital stay.  :thumbdown;

Hope things start going better soon and you adjust to hemo.

Thinking about you.

Same thing happened to me a few months after I started pd - but I was lucky in that they just had to reposition the catheter, not take it out.  How long till they replace it?  Thinking of you.

I spoke with the doctor about my nausea and she recommended trying Xanax. I used it today and did not have any nausea. I just had a very slight headache that went away later. It was a really good run. Twirl, yes i was on PD. I don't know if I will go back to it... I have had many infections. I think I will try hemo for a while.
