I think thats what they are called... I personally call them "smelly burps". They smell DISGUSTING and taste DISGUSTING. I used to get them every now and then, and hadn't had them in over a year... however, I woke up with them today.  >:(  What causes them? How do you get rid of them? They make me want to PUKE.

No anja... the burps are gone today, thankfully. But i have had no eggs of any kind. When these burps do come, they come from  nowhere... I dont recall eating anything that could cause this. I was reading online to find the answer, havent found a direct answer yet, but some suggestions. One of the suggestions was not drinking enough water, so drink more water they will go away... maybe thats why mine have gone away today? I uped my water yesterday after reading it. I will be sure to ask my doctor while in the hospital next week, but dunno if they can answer me b/c it seems like a digestive problem, so a digestive dr would be better suited.

Do these sulur burps smell and taste of rotten eggs?  I get what I call "egg burps" all the time and they are truly disgusting.  Noone has been able to tell me what they come from.  I never know ewhen they are coming and i have to stay in the house for fear of killing people weith the smell of them.

Yes, I LOVEFLUID, those are it. They come without warning and for no reason. They leave the same way without warning and for no reason.

Are they a dialysis related phenomenon (a strong word, but if you smelt them you would know why I chose it).  They started back in 1999 when I first started dialysis, but they continued throughout the 5 years I had a transplant.  Do they sound weird to you guys who have them?  I could make sound effects tapes with mine.  I notice they come on sometimes when I eat eggs, popcorn, shredded wheat and peanuts?  Anyone else notice anything that brings them on?  I am so excited that I am not the only one.  Ii really thought I was a freak of nature.  I would love to know how to prevent them as I am getting married in September and for obvious reasons, would prefer not to smell like burps on that day.

I don't think there dialysis related. Mine started when I wasn't on dialysis, and sometimes I go years without having an episode, when I do have an episode it last's only a few days... those few days suck because of it, but luckily they only last for a few.... This last I tried drinking lot's of water, seemed to make them go away faster, but it could of been coincidence. Might be hard to drink lots of water if your having them and on dialysis, so don't know what to offer for advice on that.

Angela, Do you have a dog?  I was doing some research and sulfur burps can be a symptom of giardiaisis, which is a parasite dogs can pick up outside from other animals urine.  it causes digestive problems and sulfur burps.  I am getting tested for it today and my dogs are getting vaccinated tomorrow.  If they have it, all I have to do is take an antibiotic and get them vaccinated.  I can't believe I might actually get rid of them.

My burps are caused by eating and then having Tums right afterwards.  Yes, my beloved binders cause burps!
