Transplant Question

I have a question. I am scheduled finally for my transplant on June 11th. Is it okay for me to get a new puppy once I'm home from the hospital? Obviously the puppy would have all its shots, etc.

I have two dogs and a cat. (and a transplant)
They are all mine so their mess is mine and I have to deal with it. You just have to be careful.
I don't know that I would have acquired any new animals right after the transplant. Focus on getting better and enjoying your new kidney. You might want to hold off on the animals until later when your meds are stable. Above all, talk with your transplant team about the best course of action for you.

Do you really have to get rid of pets after a transplant?
