That's good news about your Creatinine, Donnia.  Keep up the good work and attitude  You'll be back to where you were in no time!  Poor little kidney, working so hard to keeping you off dialysis permanently.  BTW, sorry you're having to do dialysis during this crazy time.

We love you.   :-*

I know Donnia updated earlier - but here's more info - looks like things are going in the right direction!!  :yahoo;

Hi everyone,

Things are actually looking better.  I did go to dialysis twice.  I was very disappointed to have to go, but very happy that I have that option.  Yesterday before dialysis my creatinine was 5.75 (that is higher than the day I had my transplant!).  This morning at about 4am they took labs and it was 3.5.  This is very encouraging.  The real test is tomorrow morning.  If my creatinine continues to go down (as I am praying) then that means my kidney has kicked in and is doing the work it is supposed to do.  I am praying that this major reduction in creatinine isn't just because I had dialysis.

Dr. DeMory, my kidney doctor, is pretty sure I got too much Prograf.  I was switched on Thursday.  Instead of taking 4mg Rapamune (slows recovery), I was placed on 4mg in the morning and 4mg in the evening.  My transplant team is who did this.  Well, Dr. DeMory thinks I got toxic levels of the Prograf.  He has placed me back on the Prednisone (I hate this drug!) and lowered the Prograf to 1mg in the morning and 1mg in the evening.
