Life is great!

« on: April 19, 2009, 12:32:48 AM »

Well, things are just getting no better.  My legs swell up after dialysis, tight chest and feel like I have a bad dose of the flu.  Because I still have significant residual function they have now reduced my hours to two and take off no fluid and blood pump of 200.  Wonder why I am doing it at all!!  Anyhow it's Sunday night here and everything is just getting back to normal and I no longer look like a telly tubbie.  I have lost a kilo in fluid over the weekend and tomorrow I will go back and by the end of dialysis I will have put on 1.5 kilos.  They are trying everything to find out what I am allergic to.  We have tried new dialyser, I have new lines coming from overseas and the next step is to try a new machine.  Getting a bit fed up with it now.  Wondering if I should go off it for a week and see what my bloods do.  My kidney really seems to be kicking up a stink about the extra help!  After dialysis it is lazy for about twelve hours and then I start going to the bathroom again and it just feels like my own kidney has kicked in again. I buggered my needling on Thursday so I didn't have dialysis at all that day so over the past week I have only had four hours in total.  Feel 100 percent better after being off it a few days.

Anyhow. that is where I am at.  Eventually when they let me come home from training I will be back on line.  At the moment I am at the clinic about seven hours, four days.  It is about an hour's drive both ways so the days are pretty long. I have the process down pat now and just want to go home but obviously they won't let me until they sort out the allergy. :stressed; :waiting; :waiting; :waiting;

Hallo, Lucinda, thanks to let us know, I keep my fingers crossed and wish you good luck and all the best! I wonder why you are so allergic? Kind regards from Kristina.

cindy,

 unless  you  are  peeing  by  the  bucket load,they  should  be  taking  some  fluid  off  on  dialysis.

this  could  be  the  reason  for  the  puffy  ankles,200  pump  speed  is  what  you  would  run  on  nocturnal.

hope   you  become  non  allergenic  to  dialyisis  real  soonm,  get  your  life  back  on  track.

That is just really weird.  Maybe if they rinsed the machine twice as long??

This is scary.....  We need to get you transplanted.

Sorry, I can't remember -- It's not the heparin, right?  Wasn't someone else recently allergic to heparin?

I hope this gets settled soon.  :grouphug;

Lucinda you amaze me because everything is always different with you... I mean that in a good way.

Yeah why don't they just take you off dialysis for a bit and see what happens?? You seem to still be doing OK without it - better than OK even... what does your awesome neph say?

If it works better that way hey... I want your body!!!  :rofl;
