Well found out tonight at our support group Christmas party that this was going to be the last support group function. Why because the social workers who put the support group together one is retired last Oct from my center and our new social worker is is now our insurance Mgr and the other social worker does not want to do it alone. So story short our new social worker is not allowed to help out with the group because it is a dialysis center function between 2 centers and The powers that be won't let her she must work on insurance and travel arrangements only. So the retired social worker I liked that retired or as she said quit because all they care about is the money and not the mental or physical emotions of the patients this just pisses me off Us patients looked forward to the meetings and had all kinds of fun and leaned on each other.

I am really, really sorry to hear this.  I hope that IHD can make up in some small way for the loss of your support group. :grouphug;

You don't need a social worker to organize a support group. Most of the successful ones are run by patients.

Agree with Karol, you can do it yourselves and if you need more info you can always come on IHD and get it.
