Hello to all,
I was on dialysis from Aug/89 through Feb of this year when I received a transplant. I was on the "list" for twelve years yet only accrued about 6 years due to illnesses which due to their nature required going "inactive" for 2 years at a time. I was told that you kept your place on the list but did not realize that you did not gain time - but this is a post for another day.
In Feb I received a transplant from the extended donor list which finally failed about about two weeks ago when I started back on dialysis. My first day back an old friend of mine who has been on doing this longer than me of this site. "It's easy to remember" he said, "it's called - ihatedialysis.com". This brought a smile to both our faces and I had to laugh despite the mixed emotions of starting up on that from which I thought I had escaped.
I am both excited and glad to see this forum. Glad to see we are finally getting together to voice the opinions as patients of this unwanted nephew or niece(as you prefer) of transplant and excited to think of what it could accomplish.  NickL

That really touched my heart, I love to hear things like that. Welcome to the site and I hope you post often and share your experience with us because not only will it make you feel better to vent it will help others learn. Have you ever considered NxStage? check out our sister site http://www.ilovenxstage.com to read my story with this wonderful machine. I give a day to day account of my training and I have a lot of pictures on the site as well. Also to help get your mind off dialysis even if just for a short while, head over to yet another sister site of ours which is http://www.dialysischat.com and play some games, you can compete with other members for high scores.
