This morning I found out that there are TWO clamps on the cycler drain bags and that one of them has to be CLAMPED!  UGH - my carpet was soaked and I had to pull it up.  I feel so stupid I could just cry.

:cuddle;   Becky please don't feel stupid, we have all made mistakes. I have done that very thing!! There is so much to remember when setting up the machine, it took me ages to get it right. My machine is on a trolley so if the bags leak it is some what contained. I would suggest you get a plastic tub to put the bags in. The longer ones that can slide under the bed are good. That way when it happens again the liquid is trapped.

Hi!

I've done that too! I felt such a fool! We all have made mistakes on our set ups! Don't beat yourself up about it. The other night, I had to do my set - up THREE times cos I made stupid mistakes! And I'm in my third year of dialysis!

We're all with you on the making a mistake thing, you're not alone!!!

I was on PD back in 1983-1987 and I didn't know anyone else who was doing this type of dialysis at home.  I can't even begin to tell you the number of mistakes I made.  I had drain bags leak, not once but twice before I got smart enough to think about buying a tub to put the drain bags in.  This time when I went back on PD, I went out and purchased a plastic tub before my machine was even delivered to my home.

Don't worry, we've all been there and done that!  I doubt that you'll find anything that you do "wrong" that someone here hasn't experienced too.  That's why it's so nice to find others in the same boat that you can compare notes with and commiserate too!
