Her royal highness Queen Ruth on her throne, RIP

« on: March 09, 2009, 12:41:14 PM »

Sorry to be missing in action. I just got home from the hospital. I was there from Friday until this afternoon.

I felt sick to my stomach for days and was told to go in and get checked. My electrolytes were abnormal, High phosphorus and very low calcium.

I did get to stay in the new wing of the hospital, with the fancy private rooms, so that part was pretty nice.

I hope you feel better now.  Hospital stays are not relaxing.

Mikey, I so wish I'd known!  What a drag but I hope things are now improved for you.  What did they do to bring your lytes back in line?

Mikey, I so wish I'd known!  What a drag but I hope things are now improved for you.  What did they do to bring your lytes back in line?

They were concerned that I might have a cardiac event due to the low calcium. So they put me on a 24 hour heart monitor, continued my CAPD and increased my calcium pills. At least having a cardiac concern put me in the brand new "heart institute" part of the hospital. The room and bathroom were nicer than my apartment! The only things missing were internet access and my kitty.

Glad you are back and doing ok.  At least you had a good room!  Maybe not the Hilton, but a room by yourself!   Take care.
