I missed this thread.  I hope you are enjoying your movies.  :guitar:

Twirl - is it legal for your dialysis center to limit what you watch on a laptop?  I doubt it.

I bet Stacy without an E could tell stories of people watching porn in the unit - if any unit would have that going on it sounds like his would!!  :rofl;

I know I've actually turned a few shows off I'd been watching (eg: Californication) because I was a little worried that elderly patients nearby (or their visitors eg: wife) might accidently see out of the corner of their eye and get upset. Not that I'm embarassed or anything, but I wouldn't want to be responsible for something like that upsetting others. Still an actual rule about watching "pg" shows? what the...? talk about nanny state! I'm glad I doubt my unit would do anything like that. I'm sure if someone watched something that was upsetting someone else they'd just ask them to turn it away or turn it off. It's never been an issue that I've seen.

I have never had an issue with TV except for basketball on TVS that we shared during basketball season.  NEVER ask to change the channel during a game!

 If the patients did not want to watch the movie they could change the channel. They were showing Slumdogs for the movie the other night. It all depends on what people bring in to watch.

I have never been told on PG movies at any center, but then I am back in the stone ages here. Independence Day is my favorite movie.  :bandance;

there is a way around it, but takes time to do the night before. I did on my old laptop where I could save streaming videos onto my computer. I think it was either due to having  Real or Rhapsody player. I haven't uploaded either to my computer yet, but if you want to do this method in order to watch movies or tv shows from hulu, I will redownloaded them and tell you which one it is and how.

Sure Chris, that would be great. The tv at dialysis only gets about 20 channels, most of which seems to be hospital radio and i get tired of reading after long periods of time. thanks!

Sorry I haven't been paying much attention to IHD lately. I'll start on it Sunday or Monday and hopefully it will work on hulu, which I think it will..

It is Real Player that needs to be downloaded at http://www.real.com/
To download video,right click in the video that is playing and a menu pops up. Scoll down to "Download This Video to Real Player" and click on it.
A screen will pop up to show download progress and options to play, delete, burn to CD.
To play video, it is saved in a default folder, such as C:\Users\paddbear\Videos\RealPlayer Downloads\ , which you can access from the start menu. It will be on the right side under the name you labeled your computer under, such as paddbear. Click on that, go down to Video and click on that and you will see the above mentioned folder to find your downloaded videos to play.

The above is for Vista, XP is slightly different to get to, but under My Videos.

Chris, I just did all of that and it worked. Sort of. I clicked on the video to watch it once it had downloaded to RealPlayer and all I got was a message that said the video was not available and I had to go to hulu.com to watch it! That was sneaky!! And evil! I was all excited to watch all 97 episodes of Doogie Houser, MD at dialysis too!!   ;D

The other option is to burn to disk or flash drive that real player has. I will look into why it's not working.
