My dear daughter

I am supposed to get an angiogram on my upper arm fistula.  I was put in Nov of '08 and we haven't been able to use it yet.  They saw some narrowing in it and suggested an angiogram.  How successful are they?  Has anyone ever had one?

I'm very nervous.  Of course the doctors say it's no big deal, but it's not their body.

They usually go in with a needle and a balloon and pump up the narrow area.  Hurts for a few minutes and the arm is sore for a few days.

They usually call them fistulagrams - check on here, there are plenty of posts about them.

when I had my catheter out, the doc said I had some narrowing in my fistula and an angiogram would help open that area up. It would cause more problems in my poor circulation in my hand however.
