Well, last Tuesday was awful for me (see the post "It happened again, only worse"), but this Tuesday was the complete opposite
. Our centre just changed to a new computer system to replace printed run records, and each machine has a computer monitor on top and a keyboard mounted to the side. The way the keyboard is mounted made it impossible for the machine to be turned toward the patient, and allow the tech to access the keyboard. I was resigned to the fact that I couldn't have the machine turned toward me anymore, and I was kind of bummed. I was talking to my tech about that, and she decided to fold the keyboard holder up, turn the machine completely toward me, and simply turn it back long enough to input my data, then turn the machine back toward me when she was finished. Doing that made the whole process very awkward for her, but she willingly went through with it so she could make me more comfortable. Her gesture really touched me, and it will never be forgotten. It was so good to have a staff member show such kindness and compassion for me after I've dealt with so much frustration. There most defiantly are good staff members out there
.Take care.
