I'll go fast.
I have had CKD since I was 11, now 28. On dialysis four times (both peritoneal and hemo), and have had three kidney transplants. One living-related, two deceased. I volunteer at Gift of Life and National Kidney Foundation. My disease was caused by a rheumatoid disease. I am not on dialysis now. I was, last stretch was for 2.5 years. Hated it.
I have a two-pronged goal in regards to my life.
1. Get people on the organ and tissue donation list
2. Catch CKD before it does the damage

That's as much of an intro as I can give, for now.

That was a great intro!  Welcome to our community.  It is clear that while I know we have much to offer you, you also have much to offer us.  I am looking forward to hearing more from you in the other threads, or maybe you can start some yourself.  Welcome!

Welcome to the site! Just curious and not trying to be nosey, do you have lupus? That's what caused my kidneys originally to go bad. Just thought your arthritis disease might be Lupus. Haven't seen too much of "us" on this site so I'm curious.

Welcome to the site.  Once you see what a great find this site is, maybe you could promote us to the patients you come in contact with.  I wish you well on your goals.  They are worthy.
